This regulation requires ships to reduce NOx emissions compared to IMO II standards when operating in the ECA. Failure to comply, ship owners can result in heavy fines, refusal to enter the port, and a serious effect on their reputation in the international market. In that context, the question is not "Will it apply or not?" but "Is your business ready for IMO III?"
