This agreement was signed within the official visit to the United State from May 29-31 of Prime Minster Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the invitation of US President Donald Trump.

Caterpillar is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives.
In Vietnam, Phu Thai Industrial Company Limited with its familiar brand name Phu Thai CAT (a subsidiary of Phuthai Holdings) has been the sole authorised distributor of Caterpillar products and services for many years.

It is expected that in the next 10 years, Phu Thai CAT will import from Caterpillar approximately $ 3-4 billion product lines such as excavators, bulldozers, engines, generator sets, propulsion engines, mining equipments, Oil and gas engines for the need of Vietnam’ economic development.

Under this agreement, Phu Thai CAT and Caterpillar will expand the distribution of innovative technology products which 100% made-in-the-USA, bringing various benefits to Phu Thai’s customers. In addition, Caterpillar is committed to intensively support Phu Thai in training, techniques, assembly and business operations in Vietnam.

Caterpillar, through Phu Thai CAT has supplied more than 100 Generator Sets of over 3MW each, using the CAT C175-20 Generator Sets made in USA to one of the largest investors and exporters from Vietnam, working 24/7 for 365 days per year and employing more than 100,000 people. CAT and Phu Thai CAT have provided the latest technology to these sites to enable them to be remotely monitored for all essential operating parameters.

CAT ProductLink technology will monitor, measure, benchmark and transmit data for fluids level, oil and water, temperature. The result will be continuous, online, in real time, monitoring with automated responses. Through this collaboration the customer will have seamless monitoring and reporting at site, with the CAT Dealer and with Caterpillar. Therefore, the savings in potential downtime to the customer is Billions of Dollars.

Furthermore, Caterpillar’s commitment is to continue to aggressively support Phu Thai in pursuit of projects which strengthen the infrastructure in Vietnam and support jobs growth in Vietnam and the United States.

Thereby, reinforcing the ability, prestige of Phu Thai as well as showing the great potential of Vietnam market.
